Trautwein Elementary School serves students in kindergarten through fifth grade and preschool. The school is located at 5011 Ambs Road, St. Louis, MO 63128.

Regular school hours are 8:45 a.m. to 3:35 p.m. On half-day/early release days, students in grades K-5 are dismissed at 12:55 p.m.

History

Trautwein Elementary School's original building opened in 1964. The school is named after Henry Trautwein. Mr. Trautwein was a teacher and principal in Mehlville School District. He retired in 1965.

Trautwein was one of the first schools in the Mehlville School District to be named a Missouri School of Character and a National School of Character. Trautwein supports its families in their effort to help children develop strong positive character traits.
